The Playstation 3 Slim has been the latest exciting product variant from the Sony stable. Ever since its September 2009 launch it has already sold more than 1 million within the first 3 weeks worldwide. Sadly, India did not see the launch of this latest variant along-with the world. But is it going to come to India ever, and would it sport the same features?

Sony PS3 Slim - 30% more better!
Its official, the Sony Playstation 3 Slim with 120 GB HDD and all features as available around the world is launching here in India on Nov 25th 2009-11-23
If you wanna make sure that you get your hands on it, click here for more details.
Here is a condensed list of what’s new in the slim:
- The form factor is 30% lesser, which means it occupies lesser place and efficiently compact to fit smaller wall units. Of course with the smaller form factor it is much more lighter too compared to the earlier variant of the PS3.
- Its not just the exterior that has improved but also the interior. The newer Playstation 3 has a fully redesigned internal architecture. Not getting too “techy”, the newer semi-conductor and power supply design is less hungry for electric power and cuts your PS3 electric bills by a whopping 33% It now features a quieter fan mechanism [ finally, phew ].
- The PS3 Slim inherits the curvy body design of its original but throws in a visual punch with textured surface finishing and meticulous design cues.
- It seems like Sony wanted to tone down the geeky looking device to something more acceptable in the normal drawing rooms of the conventional households.
Sony this time around wants to push the newer PS3s as a media player and entertainment system capable of playing back content in the highest resolution possible across any media players i.e. 1080i ( interlaced ) without making it look out of place in front your sofa or lounge because of its earlier large form factor and gleaming glossy finish.
The supercomputer that the Sony PS3 Slim is, it consists of an overwhelming 2 teraflops of computing muscle. This results in never before seen graphical expressions showing in games and movies. The realism in environment objects & characters are more life life-like and impressively more refined. Virtual worlds and panoramic landscapes are now possible to be rendered in real-time. This lets developers express higher levels of graphical expressions unlike what has been experience till date.
